Malaysia’s top mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie–Toh Ee Wei continued their phenomenal consistency as they stormed into the SATHIO GROUP Australia Open 2025 final after a commanding performance in Olympic Park, Sydney.
The world No. 1 pair dismissed Thailand’s Pakkapon Teeraratsakul–Sapsiree Taerattanachai in straight games, winning 21-16, 21-14 in their semi-final clash at Olympic Boulevard.
Entering the tournament as the top seeds, Tang Jie–Ee Wei once again proved why they are the reigning World Champions.
Despite trailing early in the opening game, the Malaysian duo showed excellent composure and tactical maturity to fight back and seal the first set with authority.
They carried that momentum into the second game, racing ahead 12-3, before the Thais mounted a spirited comeback to level at 13-13.
But the Malaysians never panicked — instead, they regrouped, tightened their defence, and pulled away to close the match in 50 minutes.
Chen Tang Jie–Toh Ee Wei will battle for the title tomorrow against either Jafar Hidayatullah–Felisha Pasaribu (Indonesia) or Ruttanapak Oupthong–Jhenicha Sudjaipraparat (Thailand)
Both pairs have been in excellent form, but the Malaysians enter the showdown as heavy favourites with their current rhythm and world-beating confidence.
