Selangor FC kept their push for the top positions alive after securing a solid 2–0 victory over Kelantan The Real Warriors in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya.
The win lifts Christophe Gamel’s Red Giants to fourth place with 16 points, just four behind joint second-place Kuching City FC and KL City FC (20 points).
Selangor controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, but struggled to create the decisive final pass.
Their first major opportunity arrived in the 11th minute when Chrigor Moraes met a cross from Alvin Fortes, only for Kelantan goalkeeper Damyanov Damyan Valeriy to deny it with a sharp save using his foot.
Kelantan responded through the right flank, but Lyngbo Simen Alexander blasted his attempt over the bar in the 19th minute.
Just a minute later, Selangor finally found the breakthrough. A calm, composed finish from Alvin Fortes beat Damyanov to make it 1–0 for the home side.
SFC doubled their advantage shortly after the break. In the 53rd minute, Chrigor Moraes pounced on a rebound after Damyanov only managed to parry Fortes’ free-kick—which had initially rattled the crossbar—to make it 2–0.
Kelantan’s night worsened when they were reduced to 10 men in the 58th minute.
Abdul Sesay was shown a red card following a VAR review for a reckless challenge on Harith Haiqal, leaving TRW with a mountain to climb.
Selangor maintained control for the remainder of the match, closing out the contest in professional fashion to secure all three points.
