Malaysian ace Hafizh Syahrin, representing the JDT Racing Team, narrowly missed out on a podium finish after securing fifth place in Race 1 of the ASB1000 category at the opening round of the 2025 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) at the Chang International Circuit.
Starting strongly, Hafizh made an aggressive push to join the leading group. However, after the second lap, he gradually lost ground and was unable to reclaim the front positions despite a determined effort throughout the 10-lap race.
Despite the setback, Hafizh still delivered a commendable performance, clocking the fastest lap of the race with a blistering time of 1:36.301 minutes, finishing just 3.702 seconds behind the winner.
Victory went to Nakarin Atiratphuvapat, the Thai rider from Honda Racing Thailand, who dominated on home soil with a composed and consistent ride.
Next, in the round 2 will be held at Sepang International Circuit, Sepang in 30 May – 1 June.
