The decision to appoint Badrul was unanimously approved by the Board of Directors of Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFCSB), who took into consideration several key factors, including his leadership qualities and vision for the club’s future.
As head coach, Badrul Afzan will be fully responsible for overseeing all aspects of the first team, including the selection of coaching staff and player recruitment. In his first official interview with the club, Badrul expressed his gratitude and pride in being entrusted with the role, thanking the TFCSB Chairman and the Board for their confidence in his abilities.
“I am fully aware of the magnitude of this responsibility, but I’m optimistic and determined to lead Terengganu FC to greater heights with my tactical approach and football philosophy,” said Badrul.

He also extended his appreciation to the Technical Committee, who played a crucial role in assisting him throughout the player selection process for the upcoming season. With a clear vision and strong support structure, Badrul aims to mold a competitive squad that can challenge for domestic honours and continental opportunities.
Badrul did not shy away from his ambition — he made it clear that his goal is to surpass the club’s performance from last season, with hopes of qualifying for ASEAN and Asian tournaments in the near future.
The team is scheduled to begin official pre-season training on July 1, 2025, with the full squad — including newly signed imports — expected to report for duty on the first day. Badrul has already secured several new signings as part of his squad revamp aimed at fortifying Terengganu FC’s title bid.
