Round 3 of the PETRONAS MAM Malaysian Cub Prix 2025 roared into high gear today as Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA MAJU MOTOR stole the spotlight by clocking the fastest overall time in the CP150 qualifying sessions.
Kasma’s blistering lap of 1:09.953s in CP150 Qualifying 2 Group B solidified his position as the man to beat heading into tomorrow’s Super Pole and Race Day.
The day began with CP150 Qualifying 1 Group A, where Ahmad Afif Amran from PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – CKJ RACING led the session with a time of 1:10.631s, ahead of Azroy Hakeem Anuar (HONDA ESTREMO YUZY RACING, 1:11.347s) and Danial Syahmi Ahmad Shahril (PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA MAJU MOTOR, 1:11.509s).
In CP150 Qualifying 1 Group B, it was Kasma’s first sign of dominance as he clocked 1:10.104s, outpacing Md Akid Aziz (PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – CKJ RACING, 1:11.486s) and Shahrol Syazras Shahrol Yuzy (HONDA ESTREMO YUZY RACING, 1:12.003s).
The competition escalated in CP150 Qualifying 2, with Azroy surging to 1:09.964s in Group A, putting him atop that session, followed by Md Helmi Azman (MAEZTRO SCK HONDA RACING TEAM, 1:10.505s) and Ahmad Darwisy Ahmad Sahir (HONDA ESTREMO YUZY RACING, 1:10.665s).
However, Kasma struck again in CP150 Qualifying 2 Group B, shaving more time off his best to post 1:09.953s, the fastest lap of the day. Akid remained consistent in second (1:10.644s), while Kasma’s teammate Nazirul rounded out the top three (1:10.870s).
Top 3 Fastest Riders of the Day:
- Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin – 1:09.953s
- Azroy Hakeem Anuar – 1:09.964s
- Md Helmi Azman – 1:10.505s
Kasma attributed his top performance to a strong momentum carried over from the last race in Tangkak.
“My performance has carried through since the last round. That winning spirit is still burning inside me, and I brought that energy here. Honestly, I didn’t expect to feel this driven. The determination to be in P1 is strong,” Kasma said.
“But it’s just Day 1—anything can happen. Tomorrow we have Super Pole and the race itself. My focus is to stay mentally sharp and consistent. Many riders in Group A are very fast but maybe haven’t found the perfect setup yet. Tomorrow’s warm-up session is the final chance, and I hope to maintain this momentum.”
With the Super Pole showdown looming and fierce contenders like Azroy and Helmi right on his heels, all eyes will be on Kasma Daniel as he aims to convert his qualifying pace into race-day glory.
