Selangor FC have confirmed the signing of Picha Autra, the seasoned Thai international midfielder, as their latest foreign reinforcement for the 2025/26 Liga Super Malaysia season, as well as the AFC Champions League Two and ASEAN Club Championship (Shopee Cup).
The 29-year-old brings with him a wealth of experience, having made over 290 club appearances in Thailand’s top flight, including stints with Muangthong United and Samut Prakan City, and proudly representing the Thailand national team on the regional stage.
Picha began his professional career at just 18 with Nakhon Nayok, before rising to prominence with Samut Prakan City FC (formerly Pattaya United). Between 2015 and 2020, he made 114 appearances, netting 19 goals and supplying 13 assists. His stellar performances earned him a first national team call-up in 2019.
His return to Muangthong United saw Picha not only become a key starter but also a respected club captain, leading the team over four seasons and 159 matches. His experience includes AFC Champions League appearances, notably against his new club Selangor FC in the 2024/25 season — a battle that left a lasting impression.
On the international stage, Picha boasts a gold medal from the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur and was part of the Thailand squad that triumphed at the 2020 AFF Championship. His leadership, calmness under pressure, and technical abilities have made him a trusted figure in Thai football.
Speaking on his move, Picha shared his excitement:
“I chose to join Selangor FC because this is a personal challenge and a valuable opportunity to step out of my comfort zone. This is my first foreign club, and I believe the professionalism and standards here will help me grow further. I’m proud to join the Red Giants family.”
He also expressed his commitment to integrate quickly:
“I aim to adapt fast, understand the culture, and foster strong relationships with teammates and staff. My experience dealing with pressure and leading on the pitch will help me support the team through the challenges ahead.”
To the fans, he added:
“I humbly hope the Red Giants supporters will stand behind me as I begin this new journey with Selangor FC. I promise to give my all.”
Selangor FC head coach Katsuhito Kinoshi welcomed the arrival of the Thai midfielder, highlighting his fighting spirit:
“Picha’s professional mindset and dynamic midfield style reflect the never-give-up spirit we value at Selangor. I am confident his presence will strengthen the team’s core as we push for domestic and regional success.”
With Picha Autra in the squad, Selangor FC continue to show ambition and intent ahead of a season packed with local and international competition, as they aim to reclaim domestic glory and make a statement on the continental stage.
