Malaysian Football League (MFL) has officially announced that 13 clubs have confirmed their participation in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 season, set to kick off on August 8, 2025.
The teams vying for domestic supremacy this season include:
- Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT)
- Selangor FC
- Penang FC
- Kuching City FC
- Sabah FC
- Terengganu FC
- Negeri Sembilan FC
- Kelantan Darul Naim FC
- Kuala Lumpur City FC
- PDRM FC
- DPMM FC (Brunei)
- Melaka FC (from AFL A1)
- Imigresen FC (from AFL A1)
All 13 clubs have been granted the 2025–2026 National Club License by the independent licensing body, First Instance Body (FIB). Notably, DPMM FC received special clearance from both FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to rejoin the Malaysian league.
While Sri Pahang FC was also awarded a national license, the club has opted out of the upcoming season. They submitted an official withdrawal letter to MFL dated June 16, 2025, confirming their decision not to participate.
With the return of DPMM FC to Malaysian football and the addition of two rising clubs from AFL A1, Melaka FC and Imigresen FC, MFL is expecting a thrilling and competitive season that will excite fans across the nation.
