Kuching City has made a major move in the transfer market with the official signing of Malaysia national team goalkeeper, Haziq Nadzli, ahead of the upcoming season.
The club announced Haziq’s arrival through an official statement on their social media platforms, unveiling the experienced shot-stopper as the newest member of The Cats.
“Welcome Haziq Nadzli to Kuching City FC!” the club wrote.
“This seasoned goalkeeper is ready to start a new chapter with us. With composure and agility between the posts, his presence will solidify our last line of defence.”
The signing of Haziq is seen as a major boost for Kuching City’s ambitions, as the club looks to scale greater heights in the upcoming Liga Super Malaysia campaign.
Last season, the 26-year-old was loaned to Perak FC from Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and delivered impressive performances. He made 19 appearances for The Bos Gaurus, recording six clean sheets in the Super League.
Following his loan spell, Haziq expressed his gratitude to JDT, where he spent seven seasons since 2017, winning multiple domestic titles and gaining valuable experience under the Southern Tigers’ setup.
Now, as he dons the green of Kuching City, Haziq Nadzli is determined to bring his expertise and leadership to the squad’s backline.
“Let’s give our full support to Haziq in his mission to take Kuching City FC to the next level!” the club added in their welcome message.
With Haziq guarding the net, Kuching City FC is poised to strengthen their defensive resolve as they push for a higher finish in the 2025/26 season.
