Johor Darul Ta’zim have stunned local football fans by officially parting ways with 11 players ahead of the upcoming season, marking a bold and strategic shake-up by the Southern Tigers.
The announcement was made via the club’s social media platforms, accompanied by a heartfelt message thanking the departing players and wishing them success in their future endeavors.
Among the most notable exits are two veteran goalkeepers, Farizal Marlias and Izham Tarmizi, both of whom have played pivotal roles in JDT’s dominance over the past decade. Also released is midfield maestro Safiq Rahim, a central figure in the club’s rise since joining in 2013.
In a major shift to their foreign roster, JDT have also released seven import players such as, Jordi Amat, Jese Rodriguez, Murillo Henrique, Jonathan Viera, Alvaro Gonzalez, Roque Mesa, Anselmo de Moraes.
The eleventh departure is Ramadhan Saifullah, whose permanent move to Kuching City FC was finalized recently after a previous loan spell, closing his chapter with the Southern Tigers.
Despite the mass exodus, JDT has already begun preparations for the new campaign, kicking off their first pre-season training sessions with three new signings already in camp: Antonio Glauder, Jairo Da Silva, and Ibrahim Manusi.
