Malaysia’s very own Hafizh Syahrin delivered a solid performance on home soil, securing seventh place (P7) in the ASB1000 category Free Practice sessions of Round 2 of the 2025 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) at the Sepang International Circuit.
Representing the JDT Racing Team, the former MotoGP rider showcased his experience and speed by recording a best lap time of 2:06.847 — just 1.025 seconds adrift of the day’s pacesetter.
It was fellow Malaysian Azroy Anuar from Idemitsu Honda Racing Malaysia who stole the spotlight, storming to the top of the combined timesheets across all three sessions with a blistering 2:05.882 lap, securing provisional P1 heading into the weekend.
Hafizh’s consistent pace throughout the practice sessions underlines his readiness to challenge for a podium finish as the championship intensifies. With qualifying and Race 1 still to come, the 30-year-old will look to build on this momentum in front of the home crowd at Sepang.
