Malaysia’s motorsport hero Hafizh Syahrin delivered another electrifying performance in front of a roaring home crowd, clinching second place (P2) in Race 2 of the ASB1000 category at Round 2 of the 2025 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC), held at the Sepang International Circuit.
Riding under the banner of the JDT Racing Team, Hafizh was in scintillating form, overcoming challenging and ever-changing track conditions with poise, precision, and raw speed. After quickly joining the front-running pack, the former MotoGP rider aggressively asserted himself into the lead group and controlled much of the race’s final laps.
Despite a valiant effort and a relentless push to the line, Hafizh narrowly missed out on victory, finishing just 0.768 seconds behind the winner. However, he stamped his authority on the race by clocking the fastest lap time of 2:06.108, underlining his class and intent to elevate JDT Racing Team as a serious championship contender.
The race was won by fellow Malaysian Azroy Anuar, who capped off a perfect weekend with a double victory in the ASB1000 class for IDEMITSU Honda Racing Malaysia, cementing his place as the rider to beat this season.
With consecutive podium finishes at Sepang, Hafizh Syahrin has firmly reestablished himself as one of the top contenders in the ASB1000 championship. Backed by a determined JDT Racing Team, the Malaysian star is now riding a wave of momentum as the 2025 ARRC season charges ahead.
