Malaysian rising star Hakim Danish delivered a sensational performance at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya after finishing as the fastest rider on the opening day of the Moto3 World Championship Round 6 in Catalunya.
Representing the AEON Credit – MT Helmets – MSi squad, Hakim showcased impressive pace and consistency throughout both Friday sessions to firmly establish himself as one of the standout contenders for the weekend.
The young Malaysian began the day in superb fashion by topping the FP1 session with a fastest lap of 1:47.478 minutes, immediately sending a strong message to his rivals around the iconic Spanish circuit.
Hakim continued to raise the intensity in the afternoon Practice session, where he once again emerged fastest after improving his pace significantly with a blistering lap time of 1:46.943 minutes.
The performance secured him the overall P1 position for the day and guaranteed direct qualification into Q2 for Saturday’s qualifying session after finishing comfortably inside the top 14 riders.
Hakim’s ability to consistently produce competitive lap times throughout both sessions highlighted the growing confidence and maturity of the Malaysian rider, especially on a technical circuit such as Barcelona-Catalunya that demands precision, rhythm and tyre management.
The result also continues Hakim’s encouraging momentum in his rookie Moto3 campaign, with the youngster steadily adapting to the intensity of world championship competition while continuing to deliver increasingly impressive performances against more experienced rivals.
