Johor Darul Ta’zim brought the curtain down on their Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 campaign in devastating fashion after demolishing Kelantan The Real Warriors 14-1 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
Head coach Xisco Munoz fielded an aggressive attacking lineup led by prolific striker Bergson da Silva alongside Manuel Hidalgo and Yago Cesar, while the visitors relied on Azam Azih and Habib Haroon in midfield to try and withstand the pressure.
However, the contest quickly turned into a nightmare for Kelantan TRW FC.
JDT needed just 47 seconds to break the deadlock when Bergson powered home a header from a precise cross delivered by Jonathan Silva.
The Brazilian striker doubled the lead in the 11th minute with a stunning long-range strike before Hidalgo calmly finished a low cross moments later to make it 3-0.
The floodgates had officially opened. Antonio Glauder added the fourth goal with a towering header in the 18th minute before Hidalgo grabbed his second of the night with a clever chipped finish past goalkeeper Azfar Arif.
Bergson then completed his hat-trick in the 35th minute after once again tearing through the Kelantan defence.
The goals continued to pour in as Jese Wilkin converted after excellent build-up play involving Corbin Ong.
Before halftime, Bergson struck again to score his fourth goal of the match after capitalising on a defensive mistake from Wan Amirul Afiq, giving JDT a staggering 8-0 lead at the break.
The second half offered no respite for the visitors. Yago Cesar scored JDT’s ninth goal in the 51st minute before Bergson completed a sensational five-goal haul two minutes later after controlling the ball brilliantly with his chest before calmly finishing.
Hidalgo soon joined the scoring spree once again by netting JDT’s 11th goal from a pass by Stuart Wilkin.
Kelantan TRW eventually found a consolation goal in the 64th minute through Faris Izdiham, who headed home from a corner to briefly give the travelling side something to celebrate.
But JDT’s relentless attacking intensity never slowed. Bergson struck for a remarkable sixth personal goal of the evening in the 83rd minute following another assist from Hidalgo, taking the score to 12-1.
Substitute Syamer Kutty Abba also joined the scoresheet with a well-placed header before Teto completed the extraordinary rout three minutes from time with a curling strike beyond the goalkeeper.
Despite continued pressure in the closing moments, no further goals were added as the final whistle confirmed a historic 14-1 victory for the Southern Tigers.
The emphatic victory not only showcased JDT’s relentless attacking quality but also sealed the biggest win recorded in the history of Liga Super Malaysia.
The dominant performance once again underlined JDT’s status as Malaysia’s football powerhouse, while Bergson’s ruthless finishing and the team’s attacking fluidity provided the perfect ending to another commanding domestic campaign.
