Selangor FC will submit an official appeal to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) following the disciplinary sanctions imposed on the Red Giants over crowd disturbances during the Piala FA Malaysia 2025/26 quarter-final second leg against Negeri Sembilan FC on 29 October at the MBPJ Stadium.
The club confirmed its intention to appeal after the FAM Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu, announced yesterday that Selangor will be required to play two FA Cup matches behind closed doors and pay a RM100,000 fine after being found guilty of five charges under the FAM Disciplinary Code.
SFC Technical Committee Chairman Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar stated briefly to the media that the club will bring the matter to FAM through the official appeal process.
In his statement, Datuk Baljit explained that Selangor FC were found guilty of violating Article 70 (Paragraphs 1 & 3) of the FAM Disciplinary Code for the first four charges, and Article 68 read together with Article 69 for the fifth charge.
The punishment—two matches without spectators—will take effect immediately and will apply to Piala FA Malaysia 2025/26 semi-final second leg between Selangor and Sabah on 30 November 2025 at MBPJ Stadium, and Selangor FC’s first home FA Cup match of the 2026/27 season.
