Selangor FC continued their strong run in the 2025/26 Liga Super Malaysia season with a hard-fought 2–1 comeback victory over Sabah FC at Likas Stadium on Saturday night.
The Red Giants showed character and resilience after falling behind early in the match, eventually overturning the deficit to claim all three points on away soil.
Sabah took the lead in the 9th minute when Fergus Tierney broke through Selangor’s defense and slotted home the opener to ignite celebrations among the home fans.
However, Selangor gradually settled into the game, with their attacking trio of Chrigor Moraes, Faisal Halim, and Alvin Fortes pushing the tempo and testing Sabah’s backline, led by captain Dominic Tan.
The equalizer came late in the first half when Alvin Fortes capitalized on a defensive lapse to make it 1–1, restoring hope for the visitors.
In the 59th minute, national winger Faisal Halim emerged as the hero for Selangor, calmly finishing a loose ball inside the box past Sabah goalkeeper Damien Lim to complete the comeback.
