Johor Darul Ta’zim IV (JDT IV) emerged victorious in a pulsating Piala Belia 2024 Final second leg, defeating Terengganu FC IV (TFC IV) 5-3 at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, Gong Badak. With an aggregate score of 7-5 across both legs, JDT IV claimed the championship title, marking a triumphant end to their campaign.
Playing on a rain-drenched pitch, JDT IV took an early lead through Muhammad Daniesh Amirruddin, who coolly converted a penalty in the 17th minute. Just eight minutes later, another penalty was awarded to the visitors, and Mohamad Zamir Zairi made no mistake to double their advantage to 2-0.
Despite trailing, TFC IV showcased immense resilience. In the 35th minute, defender Che Ku Irfan Danial capitalized on a corner to score, reducing the deficit to 2-1. Just before halftime, midfielder Iskandar Akmal Sabri dazzled with a long-range strike, leveling the score at 2-2.
The second half saw JDT IV regain control. Mohamad Zamir struck again with a sublime effort from outside the penalty box, giving the visitors a 3-2 lead. Team captain Adib Ibrahim Adnan extended the advantage to 4-2 in the 74th minute, before Abib Safaraz Rozaidi sealed the win with a towering header in the 84th minute.
In injury time, substitute Muhammad Iman Alif Hasman scored with a powerful header to make it 5-3, but it was too little, too late for TFC IV.
After the 2-2 draw in the first leg at Pasir Gudang Stadium, JDT IV’s 5-3 victory in the second leg secured a 7-5 aggregate win, earning them the Piala Belia 2024 title.
