The Malaysian Football League (MFL) has officially announced that Giorgio Pompili Rossi is no longer serving as the league’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
In a statement, MFL confirmed Rossi’s departure, stating:
“MFL today confirms that Chief Executive Officer, Giorgio Pompili Rossi is no longer with MFL. Both parties are currently in the process of discussing next steps.”
Following this decision, MFL Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mohd Shazli Shaik Mohd, will assume leadership of the league’s secretariat operations.
Rossi, formerly a La Liga delegate to Southeast Asia, was appointed as MFL CEO to replace Datuk Stuart Ramalingam, whose contract expired on August 31, 2024. His appointment made him the first foreign CEO in MFL’s history.
