Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has officially announced the appointment of Herry Iman Pierngadi, an iconic figure in the world of badminton, as the new National Men’s Doubles Head Coach.
This strategic move is expected to elevate Malaysia’s men’s doubles performance to new heights on the international stage.
Herry is regarded as one of the most successful doubles coaches in badminton history, boasting an unparalleled track record of producing Olympic champions. Under his guidance, the legendary pair Candra Wijaya-Tony Gunawan clinched gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, while Hendra Setiawan-Markis Kido achieved the same feat at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. His extensive experience in developing world-class players has cemented his reputation as a master tactician and motivator.
Herry’s tenure with BAM is set to begin on 1 February 2025, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for the Malaysian men’s doubles squad. His arrival aligns with BAM’s mission to strengthen Malaysia’s position in the global badminton arena and develop a new generation of champions.
