The highly anticipated Maybank Challenge Cup 2025 is heating up as the full list of 26 players selected for the ASEAN All-Stars squad has been officially announced. The regional dream team will face none other than Manchester United, runners-up of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League, on 28 May at Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
The ASEAN All-Stars will be led by Vietnam national team head coach, Kim Sang-sik, bringing together some of the brightest talents from across Southeast Asia and beyond to take on the global football giants.
Malaysia contributes the highest number of players, with five names called up:Haziq Nadzli (Goalkeeper), Declan Lambert (Defender), Sergio Aguero (Midfielder), Azam Azmi (Full-back), Adib Raop (Midfielder)
These local stars will have the honor of representing the host nation in front of a roaring home crowd at Bukit Jalil.
Vietnam and Australia follow closely, each sending four players, including Vietnamese midfield maestro Nguyen Hoang Duc and Australian rising talent Adrian Segecic.
Thailand contributes three key names including Ben Davis and goalkeeper Patiwat Khammai, while Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Philippines are all represented by two players each.
Of note is the formidable pairing of Coulibaly and Faeez Khan from Cambodia, as well as Malik Risaldi and Kakang Rudianto from Indonesia, both duos expected to play pivotal roles in defense and attack.
The Philippines bring experienced centre-back Amani Aguinaldo and exciting German-based youngster Sandro Reyes, signaling their growing talent pool.
Completing the squad are one representative each from Myanmar, Laos, Singapore, and Timor-Leste, making this a truly unified ASEAN effort.
