National Muay Thai champion Ahmad Nor Iman Aliff Rakib, popularly known as Aliff Sor.Dechapan, has called on netizens to refrain from comparing Malaysian fighters competing in ONE Championship bouts.
Aliff emphasized that every national athlete who steps into the ring shares a common dream — to win and bring pride to Malaysia. However, he noted that victory and defeat are inherent parts of combat sports.
“What’s important is that fans continue to provide unwavering support because it serves as motivation for us to achieve greater success,” said Aliff.
“Everybody has a dream. Winning or losing is part of the game. Your support means a lot to us,” he added, expressing gratitude to loyal supporters.
Aliff recently made headlines after delivering a sensational 70-second knockout against Dagestan’s Shamil Adukhov during ONE Fight Night 28 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The comparisons between Aliff, Muhammad Johan Ghazali Zulfikar (Jojo), and Riffdean Masdor sparked debate among fans, despite their differing weight classes: Johan Ghazali (Flyweight): Lost via decision to Johan Estupinan at ONE 170 last month, Aliff Sor.Dechapan (Strawweight): Achieved a knockout victory at ONE Fight Night 28, and Riffdean Masdor(Atomweight): Suffered a setback against Petninmungkorn Captainkaneboxing at ONE Friday Fights 93 in January.
Aliff urged fans to celebrate the collective efforts of all Malaysian fighters, regardless of outcomes, highlighting the diverse challenges faced by competitors in varying categories.
