The application of Datuk Haji Hamidin Mohd Amin, President of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), to meet Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, Sultan of Selangor has been approved by His Majesty.
Earlier, Sultan Sharafuddin expressed his disappointment and anger following the punishment imposed on Selangor FC by the Malaysian Football League (MFL).
According to Hamidin, the Secret Secretary to the Sultan of Selangor, Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani had informed him about the matter, yesterday afternoon.
“I received a phone call from Datuk Munir at about 2.30pm on Friday (yesterday), which is a day after I sent the document requesting permission to go to Tuanku Sultan Selangor.
“His Majesty the Sultan of Selangor ordered him (Datuk Munir) to accept the application through the document that I sent to Istana Bukit Kayangan, Shah Alam at noon last Thursday,”
“God willing, if there are no horizontal obstacles, it is likely that the date to see His Majesty the Sultan of Selangor will only be held after next July 7, once he returns from Sarawak and completes the official affairs and functions that he needs to attend,”
