NCT Alliance has partnered with Petaling Badminton Club (Petaling BC) to unveil this inspiring initiative – a nationwide series of badminton tournaments including the prestigious Road to NCT Junior Badminton Championship, aimed at nurturing the champions of tomorrow. The tournament kicks off with a youth category, targeting participants aged 9 to 15 years old.

“Our commitment to empowering young talent extends beyond individual sponsorships. It expands into creating platforms for the younger generation to shine and excel. The Road to NCT Junior Badminton Championship embodies our dedication to shaping the future of Malaysian badminton and fostering a legacy of excellence,” said organiser Dato’ Sri Yap Ngan Choy.

NCT Alliance Group Chief Operating Officer Chau Chun Hoo said the group aspires to play its part in raising the standard of badminton in the country, as well as creating a healthier community.

“This is part of our group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the general direction of everything we do. I hope we can continue to expand tournaments such as these to be held across the country in the future.”

“I’ve felt the players’ enthusiasm and desire to play, so it’s all the more worthwhile for us to create more platforms for them.”

Dato Foo Kok Keong: “A platform to train badminton talents for the country”.

Foo Kok Keong was invited to be one of the awarding guests of this tournament. He believes that such tournaments are a means to explore and cultivate talents, and he hopes that there will be more such tournaments in the future.

He is also currently in the process of identifying and training some of the talents from the B40 group for the Rotary Club.

He thinks it is important for players to have the right attitude to keep up with the times. For example, nowadays the competition is getting bigger and faster, so try to be exposed to badminton from a young age. In addition to this, it is also important to prepare yourself before each match so that you can get into the swing of things and score points as soon as you come on the court.
