Selangor FC clinched the first 3 points after beating Kedah Darul Aman, scoring 1-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya.
In the final action, Selangor made an interesting move in the 11th minute following a one-two pass between Yohandry Orozco and Ronnie Fernandez, but Fernandez’s shot went straight into Kalamullah Al-Hafiz’s hands.
Alvin Fortes managed to cross the ball into the KDA area in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, his cross, which crossed the visitors’ goal, failed to catch any Selangor players.
SFC had the best chance to break the deadlock at the end of the first half, stemming from a free kick but Sharul Nazeem Zulpakar’s weak look was saved by Kalamullah.
Continuing the second half, several opportunities created by Selangor were not enough to beat KDA’s goal, including Sharul Nazeem’s header (m58) followed by Orozco’s attempt (m65) which was caught neatly by Kalamullah.
Noor Al-Rawabdeh, who was in a good position, wasted a chance in the 73rd minute when his shot went high after receiving a pass from substitute Reziq Banihani.
After six minutes of real time, Aliff Haiqal’s long shot managed to beat Kalamullah, who had previously been brilliant at denying all of Selangor’s attempts.
