Thailand Futsal National Team passed to the semi-final and clinched a ticket to the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024 after beating the Iraq Futsal National Team, scoring 3-2 in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2024 Quarter-Final at Indoor Stadium Huamark.
In this match, just in the 3rd minute, following the Thai defensive lose the ball and Salim Faisal keeping the ball and shooting from a long distance to the goal, Iraq led 1-0.
After conceding the goal, Thailand tried more opportunities to get the equalizer goal, but in the 16th minute, following Arut Senbat, the goalkeeper of Thailand dribbled the ball but lost the duel to Tareq Sulaiman and sent the ball to the net, Iraq led 2-0.
But not long time, in the 19th minute, following 2nd point penalty of Thailand and Jirawat Sornvichian’s passing to Alongkorn Janphon’s shot from outside the box, Thailand followed 1-2.
In the 20th minute, Thailand got the first red card after Apiwat Chamcharoen conceded a foul by kicking to the neck to Tareq Sulaiman, and the referee decided to confirm a red card and sent them off after checking Video Support; Thailand played the remaining 4 players for 2 minutes.
In the remaining time of the first half, there was no additional score, ending the first half with Iraq leading 2-1.
In the second half, in the 24th minute, Thailand got 2nd red card following Muhammad Osamanmusa’s conceded foul, and Iraq requested a challenge with the referee. After checking Video Support, the referee decided to give a second yellow card to Muhammed a red card and sent them off; Thailand played the remaining 4 players for 2 minutes again.
After Thailand tried more chances, in the 32nd minute, following Thailand’s attack and Therdsak Charoenpong passing back to Alongkorn Janphon’s shot to the left corner, Thailand equalizer 2-2.
In the last 6 minutes, Iraq use powerplay as Waleed Khalid.
And in the 39th minute, following miscommunication of defender Iraq and Therdsak Chareoenpong shot from long distance to the goal, Thailand led 3-2.
The remaining time of the second half had no additional score, ending Thailand’s win 3-2 and qualified to FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024.
