Indonesian football has a tragedy that no one expected once again. Septian Raharja, a player age 35 of FBI Subang, was seriously struck by lightning while playing a friendly game last weekend and died at the hospital.
This incident occurred on Sunday, 11 February 2024, during a friendly match between 2 FLO FC Bandung and FBI Subang at Siliwangi Stadium, Bandung, West Java Province.
The video clip shows Septen Raharja walking on the field before being tragically struck by lightning. and made the players on the field and rushed in to see him condition with a panicked expression.
According to PRFM News, Indonesian local media Reported that after Septian was struck by lightning, he did not immediately breathe before being taken to a nearby hospital. But he died at the hospital.
Septian is the second Indonesian footballer in the past 12 months to be struck by lightning, with the previous one occurring in 2023 during the Soeratin U-13 Cup. In that competition player U13 from Bojonegoro East Java Province, the difference is after receiving medical help and regained consciousness in about 20 minutes.
