Bertrand Rhodict Lises’ after failing to advance to the semifinals in the men’s 10-meter diving event of Olympic 2024 at the Paris Aquatic Center.
Bertrand finished in 25th place out of 26 participants with a total score of 313.70 points.
Bertrand had a promising start, collecting 66 points on his first dive and 60.80 points on his second, placing him in 16th position after two rounds. Unfortunately, his performance began to decline in the subsequent dives, scoring 49.50 points in the third, 34 points in the fourth, and 37.80 points in the fifth, which caused him to drop out of the top 18—a requirement to advance to the semifinals. Despite a strong final dive scoring 65.60 points, it wasn’t enough to secure a place in the next round.
Cao Yuan of China led the qualifying round with an impressive 500.15 points, followed by Rikuto Tamai of Japan with 497.15 points, and Rylan Wiens of Canada in third with 482.25 points.
This was Bertrand’s first appearance on the Olympic stage, having qualified for Paris after finishing 10th in the semifinals at the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, in July 2023. Despite the setback, Bertrand’s participation at such a young age marks a significant achievement in his burgeoning career.
