Lee Tuck, a former Malaysia national team footballer, has etched his name in a new chapter of athletic achievement by winning the gold medal at the AIA HYROX Open Asian Championship 2025 held in Singapore.
At 37, Tuck triumphed in the elite HYROX Asia Championship, a fast-growing global fitness competition that combines endurance running with strength-based challenges. The event drew more than 12,000 participants from across Asia, making it one of the most competitive fitness events in the region.
HYROX is an innovative fitness race format that blends running with functional workouts. The competition features:
- 8 rounds of 1-kilometer running (totaling 8 kilometers),
- 8 strength stations in between, including:
- SkiErg,
- Sled Push and Pull,
- Burpee Broad Jumps,
- Wall Balls,
- Rowing,
- and other high-intensity exercises.
The event uses standardized rules globally, allowing athletes to compare results fairly, and is open to all levels of competitors—from amateurs to elite athletes. Categories include individual, pairs, relay, and corporate teams.
Lee Tuck, known for his explosive midfield play, especially in the Liga Super Malaysia, began his career in Malaysia in 2017, turning out for clubs such as Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu, Sri Pahang, and Kedah Darul Aman. He officially became a Malaysian citizen and made his international debut for Malaysia in 2022.
After leaving Kedah Darul Aman in 2023, Tuck hung up his boots but continued to push his physical limits—now making waves in the competitive fitness world.
Tuck’s latest triumph showcases his remarkable athletic evolution. Transitioning from a professional football career to a regional fitness champion reflects his unwavering commitment to performance and excellence, even beyond traditional sports.
