Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Mohd Rumsani, Malaysian Men’s doubles pair reached the final of the CLASH ROYALE Arctic Open 2024 at Vantaan Energia Areena, Vantaan.
Ranked world No. 8, Sze Fei and Izzuddin delivered a sensational performance, overcoming the Paris Olympics silver medallists, Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang, in a thrilling three-set battle. The Malaysian pair secured a hard-fought 19-21, 21-17, 21-18 victory in just 62 minutes. This win marked their first-ever triumph over Wei Keng and Wang Chang after losing all three of their previous encounters.
Sze Fei and Izzuddin’s road to the final continues their remarkable season, having already reached the finals of the Japan Open and the China Open earlier this year, both of which they won.
In their quest for a third title of the year, they will face either Denmark’s world No. 2 and defending champions, Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, or Thailand’s qualifiers, Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Kittinupong Kedren, in the final on Sunday, October 13.
