Kuching City FC has officially confirmed that Aidil Sharin Sahak will continue as head coach for the 2025/26 season, ending weeks of speculation regarding his future.
The announcement was made by Kuching City chairman, Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, during the 2025 N6 Tupong Aidilfitri Open House Ceremony at HIKMAH Hall. This decision secures the continuity of The Cats’ progress under Aidil, who had reportedly drawn interest from several other teams.
Fazzrudin revealed that Aidil is actively involved in scouting and identifying new signings to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season.
“We will announce several surprises soon, including efforts to bring back outstanding Sarawakian talents to reinforce the team,” he told TV Sarawak.
With these strategic reinforcements, Kuching City is setting its sights on a top-three finish in the Liga Super Malaysia, a feat that Fazzrudin believes would be a remarkable achievement for the club.
“Finishing third in the league would be a proud moment for the team and the fans,” he added.
Kuching City is currently enjoying an eight-match unbeaten run in the league, including an impressive 2-1 victory over 2024/25 MFL Challenge Cup winners, Selangor FC. The team’s strong momentum has fueled optimism about their chances of breaking into the league’s elite.
The next big test for Aidil’s squad will be a high-stakes clash against league champions, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) on April 16 at the Stadium Negeri, Kuching. A positive result against the defending champions could further solidify The Cats’ credentials as a top contender for the 2025/26 season.
