Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Mohd Rumsani, Malaysian Men’s doubles pair reached the final of the BWF Daihatsu Japan Open 2024 at Yokohama Arena.
The world’s 12th-ranked duo triumphed over Indonesia’s Leo Rolly Carnando and Bagas Maulana in a tightly contested semifinal, winning 21-19, 21-17. Their victory sets up a final clash against South Korea’s reigning world champions, Kang Min Hyuk and Seo Seung Jae, tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s final will mark the fifth meeting between Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin and Kang Min Hyuk-Seo Seung Jae, with both pairs having won two matches each in their previous encounters. Their most recent match-up was in the first round of the Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) last April, where Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin won 21-13, 21-18.
Additionally, the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has approved Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin’s application to turn professional. BAM General Secretary Datuk Kenny Goh announced in a press conference that the pair will officially begin their professional careers starting September 1st.
