Kelantan Red Warrior FC (KRWFC) has reaffirmed its belief in the principles of promotion and relegation, while remaining confident that the Malaysian Football League (MFL) will deliver a wise, fair and transparent decision regarding the club’s future.
In an official statement issued on 11 July 2026, the club highlighted that promotion and relegation systems remain a fundamental part of fair competition in football leagues around the world.
“Every club must prove its ability on the pitch in order to retain its place, while only teams that excel are given the opportunity to compete at a higher level,” the club stated.
According to KRWFC, the principle is not designed to punish any team. Instead, it encourages clubs to continuously improve their performances, management structures and long-term development.
The club believes such a system is essential to protecting competitiveness, integrity and sporting merit, while also demonstrating the professionalism expected within a football league.
Despite the uncertainty currently surrounding Kelantan Red Warrior FC, the club stressed that it would not rush to conclusions.
Instead, KRWFC has adopted a positive approach and will await the official decision expected from MFL on 16 July 2026.
“The club management is confident that MFL will make a wise, accurate and fair decision for Kelantan Red Warrior FC and all of our loyal supporters,” the statement continued.
The club also said it respects all views surrounding the situation but hopes that any final decision will be based on the principle of transparency and made in the wider interests of football development in both Kelantan and Malaysia.
The statement comes as anticipation continues to build over KRWFC’s status and its hopes of competing at a higher level in Malaysian football.
For the club and its passionate supporters, the message remains clear: sporting achievement should be recognised through merit, while major decisions affecting the competition must be guided by fairness and transparency.
