Malaysian Football League (MFL) has officially confirmed the competition calendar for the 2026–27 Malaysian League season, setting the stage for another action-packed campaign featuring the Super League, FA Cup, Malaysia Cup, and MFL Challenge Cup.
The new season will officially kick off on 21 August 2026 with the prestigious Piala Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (Charity Shield) at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, where reigning Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) will face league runners-up Kuching City FC.
As in previous editions, the Charity Shield will also count as the opening fixture of the 2026–27 Liga Super Malaysia, with the league season running until 23 May 2027.
The 2026 PIala FA Malaysia is scheduled to begin on 1–2 September 2026, with clubs battling through the knockout competition before the final takes place on 16 January 2027.
The tournament is expected to provide another opportunity for clubs outside the traditional title contenders to challenge for major silverware.
Malaysia’s most prestigious domestic knockout competition, the Piala Malaysia, will be held from 22–24 January 2027.
Following several months of knockout football, the competition will culminate with the grand final on 30 May 2027, closing the domestic football season.
The MFL Challenge Cup will begin on 10–11 February 2027, with the two-legged final set to be played on 11 April and 18 April 2027.
The competition continues to provide valuable competitive opportunities for participating clubs while adding another trophy to the domestic calendar.
MFL also noted that the 2026–27 Malaysian League calendar and match schedule remain subject to amendments, depending on operational requirements, international commitments, and any future adjustments deemed necessary by the league organizers.
With domestic competitions spread across nine months, Malaysian clubs are preparing for another demanding campaign as they compete for league honors and multiple cup titles throughout the 2026–27 season.
