Indonesia U22 national team advanced to the semi-finals after beating Timor-Leste U22 national team with a score of 3-0 in the Men’s Football in SEA Games 2023. Group Stage, Group A at the Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh.
Indonesia got their first chance in the eighth minute. However, Witan Sulaeman’s kick was blocked by the Timor Leste goalkeeper, Georgino da Silva, even though he was facing one on one.
In the 28th minute, Indonesia almost opened the scoring. However, Alfeandra Dewangga’s free kick still hit the Timor Leste crossbar.
The goal for Indonesia opened only in the 45th minute. Receiving a cross from Fajar Fathur Rahman, Ramadhan Sananta’s header smoothly entered the Timor Leste goal.
After providing an assist, it was Fajar’s turn to register his name for Indonesia in the 63rd minute. has a left-footed shot hit the right of the Timor-Leste goal.
After scoring the goal, Fajar was even more unstoppable and made a brace through a goal against Timor-Leste goal in the 75th minute.
The 3-0 victory over Timor Leste has still made Indonesia perfect from three Group A matches in the 2023 SEA Games. Indonesia is five points ahead of its closest competitor, Cambodia, which has only played twice.
