Sao Sokha has a message for resigned from the President of Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) for responsible after the Cambodia U22 national team near eliminated in Men’s Football in SEA Games 2023.
Before, Sao Sokha has said will resign if Cambodia U22 national team was eliminated from the Men’s Football in SEA Games 2023. Now Cambodia U22 has 4 points from 3 matches played and stays at 3rd rank of the table in Group A.
After resigned of Mr.Sao Sokha, Mr.Khiev Sameth vice president of FFC and AFF President is up to Acting Chairman until the election for a new president.
“After losing the Group A match at the Sea Games, I respect the promise to show a sense of responsibility, I would like to announce the resignation of the President of the Football Federation of Cambodia from Sunday night, May 7, 2023, I Presented to Mr. Khiev Sameth, Vice President of the FFC as the Acting Chairman from now on.” Sao post a message on Facebook.
“I would like to thank His Excellency the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports and all the people who have supported me to continue my position as President of the Football Federation of Cambodia and I apologize for not being able to bring honor to the nation through the football event. Which Cambodia hosts.”
