Johor Darul Ta’Zim end of winning streak record in the league at 20 matches after tied with Kedah Darul Aman with a score of 3-3 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2023 at Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar.
Kedah was tackled by JDT on a fifth-minute header by Bergson Da Silva, but his attempt was pushed over by Kedah goalkeeper Ifwat Akmal.
Kedah tried to get up with an attempt by Moses Atede in the ninth minute as a result of a long-distance scramble but was easily saved by JDT goalkeeper Syihan Hazmi.
Kedah’s attempt to open the net at home was successful when his main striker Ifedayo Olusegun headed the ball into the JDT net in the 35th minute starting from a corner kick by Manuel Hidalgo while also enhancing the atmosphere of the Darul Aman Stadium.
Starting from the second half, Kedah continued to counterattack after getting motivated in the first half and as a result, team captain Manuel Ott added a second goal in the 49th minute following a beautiful attempt by Manuel Hidalgo.
Impressed by the two goals conceded, JDT immediately bounced back with a header from defender Corbin Ong three minutes later after receiving a header from substitute Shane Lowry.
However, the 2-1 position did not last long when it was JDT who got the first goal and added the second goal to equalize through imported Heberty Fernandes in the 55th minute.
Kedah made two attempts through Ifedayo Olusegun and Manuel Ott in the 62nd and 66th minutes but failed to score.
JDT didn’t wait long when its winger, Arif Aiman, put JDT in front in the 73rd minute as a result of his slow pace on the left side of the Kedah goal while also making the position 3-2.
KDA however pulled off a surprise in the dying minutes of the second half when substitute Amirbek Juraboev, who was sent on by Manuel Hidalgo, latched on to equalize for Kedah.
JDT, hoping for an early championship reception to break the history of the `Perfect 10′ by winning the Super League for the 10th time in a row, was forced to wait a little longer when collecting 61 points after 21 league games this season.
