Johor Darul Ta’Zim confirm to emerged 11th title after beating Perak FC scoring 2-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
Hector Bidoglio’s squad showed determination early on, with Corbin Ong launching a dangerous header in the eighth minute, followed by a slicing shot from Arif Aiman Hanapi that was saved by Perak FC goalkeeper Haziq Nadzli a minute later.
JDT came close to opening the scoring in the 25th minute when Arif Aiman’s corner kick found Eddy Israfilov, whose header narrowly missed the left side of the goal despite Haziq Nadzli being beaten.
With a minute left in the first half, Arif Aiman displayed his skill by evading Tommy Mawat’s control, entering the penalty box, and delivering a precise pass to Jese Rodriguez, who was unmarked and slotted the ball past Haziq Nadzli.
As the match reached the 61st minute, referee Ahmad Zuhaidi Dzulkifli awarded a penalty after detecting a handball by Perak FC defender Ariff Ar-Rasyid Arifin in the penalty area.
Obregon confidently converted the penalty in the 63rd minute, placing the ball into the right corner and beating Haziq Nadzli, securing a comfortable 2-0 lead for JDT, which remained until the final whistle.
With this victory, JDT amassed 58 points after 20 matches, making it mathematically impossible for their closest challenger, Selangor FC (42 points), to overtake them. Even if Selangor wins all five of their remaining matches, they would only reach 57 points, ensuring JDT’s dominance and securing their 11th league title.
