Johor Darul Ta’zim once again showcased their unmatched dominance in Malaysian football after crushing Brunei’s DPMM FC 10-0 in a Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at Stadium Sultan Ibrahim, Iskandar Puteri.
Fresh from their 2-0 victory over Chengdu Rongcheng in the AFC Champions League Elite earlier this week, Xisco Muñoz’s side showed no signs of fatigue as they tore through DPMM with precision, power, and purpose from the very first whistle.
It took only nine minutes for the Southern Tigers to roar into life. A pinpoint cross from Arif Aiman Hanapi found Bergson da Silva, who rose highest to head home past goalkeeper Muhammad Haimie Abdullah Nyaring, setting the tone for a long night for the visitors.
DPMM briefly threatened in the 11th minute when Ramadhan Sananta unleashed a fierce drive that flew just over the bar — their only real sight of goal all evening.
The floodgates opened soon after. In the 32nd minute, JDT were awarded a penalty after Oscar Arribas was fouled inside the box by Syafiq Safiuddin Abd Sharif, who was sent off for a second yellow card. Bergson stepped up and converted coolly for his second of the night, before completing his hat-trick just four minutes later, finishing off an assist from Afiq Fazail to make it 3-0.
Right before halftime, Arribas joined the scoresheet, weaving past two defenders before slotting past Haimie with a composed finish to give JDT a commanding 4-0 lead at the break.
The onslaught continued in the second half. Super-sub Manuel Hidalgo, introduced after the interval, wasted no time in making an impact — firing a low strike into the net from a Romel Morales assist in the 50th minute to make it 5-0.
An own goal by Pengiran Yura Indera Putera Pengiran Yunos in the 63rd minute extended the lead further, before Arif Aiman finally got his name on the scoresheet five minutes later, tucking in a perfect pass from Morales for 7-0.
Bergson, relentless as ever, added his fourth goal of the match in the 72nd minute to complete JDT’s 8-0 rampage before Jairo da Silva made it 9-0 in the 81st minute. The night of destruction was capped in the 88th minute when Morales scored with a superb header from Hidalgo’s curling cross, sealing the 10-0 triumph in front of the jubilant home fans.
