Johor Darul Ta’Zim solidified their position top flight of the league after beating Sri Pahang FC scoring 3-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
JDT took control of the match early, opening the scoring in just the 5th minute. Heberty Fernandes unleashed a powerful shot to give the hosts an early lead, setting the tone for the rest of the match.
Sri Pahang attempted to fight back, with Kpah Sherman leading their attack. However, their efforts were stymied by JDT’s robust defense, and they were unable to find the back of the net. The first half concluded with JDT maintaining their 1-0 lead.
The second half saw both teams exchanging vigorous attacks, but JDT’s defensive solidity kept Sri Pahang at bay. Heberty Fernandes continued to be a standout performer, capitalizing on a pass from Endrick Dos Santos to double JDT’s lead with a precise strike.
In the 86th minute, Heberty Fernandes completed his hat-trick. A mistake by Sri Pahang goalkeeper Zarif Irfan, who misplaced a pass to a teammate, was pounced on by the 35-year-old Brazilian. Heberty seized the opportunity to score his third goal, securing a 3-0 lead for JDT.
Despite 5 minutes of added time, the scoreline remained unchanged. JDT’s comprehensive performance ensured a comfortable victory and kept them at the top of the league table.
