French Open 2022: Malaysia’s first Women’s Double champion comes late!

Malaysia first ever French Open Women’s Double was finally acquired in the year 2022!

Malaysia’s pair, Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan defeated the Japanese and World No.4 seed, Mayu Matsumoto/Wakana Nagahara in the final stage of French Open 2022. The Japanese pair was a champion in French Open 2018.

Both pairs performed at the highest level for the champion. They played through three-set match, with the score of 21-19, 18-21 and 21-15. In the end, it was Pearly Tan/Thinaah M.’s turns to get the gold.

This win means both Pearly Tan and Thinaah M. ended Malaysia’s long awaited French Open gold in 13 years.
