Rakphol Sainetngam, Thai Futsal coach, has been confirmed to be the new head coach of Malaysia Futsal National team and has a press conference for introduced on morning of 7 August.
Rakphol Sainetngam will replace Chiew Chun Yong, a Malaysian coach who just stepped down from this position.
Rakphol Sainetngam or “Coach Mee” is the first Thai coach to lead a PTT Bluewave Chonburi, Thai Futsal club to win the AFC Futsal Club Championship 2017 and Black Steel Papua win the Indonesia Pro Futsal League.
In addition, Rakphol is the first head coach of the Thailand Futsal National team and can lead the team qualified to a round of 16 in the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2021 in Lithuania. and also led the Thailand women’s futsal national team to the 2011 SEA Games gold medal, the 2010 and 2015 ASEAN University Championship gold medals and third place at the 2015 AFC Women’s Futsal Championship in Malaysia.
Malaysia Futsal National team will gather for the first central training camp under the guidance of Rakphol starting next 10 September in preparation for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2024 Qualifiers, which will take place from 7-11 October 2023.
Malaysia has been drawn in Group G competition in Uzbekistan and will start the campaign against Iraq on 7 October, Uzbekistan on 9 October, and Cambodia on 11 October 2023 to hunt for a slot of the best 16 teams to the final round, which is the 8 champions of the qualifying competition group, the seven best second place teams and host.
