Malaysia national football team continued their dominant run in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers Round 3 Group F, defeating Laos 3-0 at Laos National Stadium KM16, Vientiane.
From the opening whistle, Harimau Malaya showcased attacking intent, pressing high and creating multiple goal-scoring opportunities throughout the match.
Malaysia nearly took the lead in the 12th minute when Arif Aiman’s curling effort narrowly missed the target, while Laos struggled to contain the visitors’ pace and precision in the final third.
Despite dominating possession, Malaysia were unable to find the breakthrough before halftime, with the first 45 minutes ending 0-0.
The second half saw Malaysia immediately resume their offensive rhythm. In the 46th minute, a well-delivered cross from La’Vere Corbin-Ong found Romel Morales, whose header was dramatically cleared off the line by a Laos defender.
Moments later, in the 51st minute, Morales came close again, his powerful shot inside the box flying just over the bar.
The pressure finally paid off in the 53rd minute, when Malaysia took the lead through Arif Aiman, who capitalized on a loose ball from a corner to slot home from close range and make it 1-0.
Malaysia doubled their advantage in the 69th minute. Corbin-Ong once again played provider, delivering a precise ball into the box that found Morales. Although the Laos goalkeeper denied his first attempt, Dion Cools was quick to react, firing in the rebound to extend Malaysia’s lead to 2-0.
In injury time (90+6’), substitute Faisal Halim sealed the victory with a well-placed finish, capping off a complete team performance and securing a 3-0 win for Malaysia.
The result sees Harimau Malaya collect another three points, further consolidating their place at the top of Group F as they edge closer to qualification for the AFC Asian Cup 2027.
Malaysia will next return home to the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur for the reverse fixture against Laos on 14 October 2025, aiming to continue their perfect run in the qualifiers.
