Sri Pahang FC still secures an unbeaten record after invading to beat Terengganu FC with a score of 2-1 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2023 at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, Gong Badak.
In the 21st minute, the visitors once again had the best chance to score the first goal again through Muhamad Zuhair Aizat from Kpah Sherman’s pass, but Suhaimi acted brilliantly to block the midfielder’s attempt.
Entering the 30th minute, the Penyu squad’s goal finally leaked as a result of a goal by former TFC import striker last season, Sherman who easily rejected the ball from Stefano Brundo’s free kick which had previously failed to be cleared by the TFC defense after the ball was thrown from the goalkeeper for the Tok Gajah squad to take the lead 1-0.
Stunned by the goal, Steinbruckner, who fielded three imported strikers led by Jordan Mintah, Mamut and Adisak Kraisorn, redoubled their efforts to hunt for an equaliser.
The result in the 39th minute, caused by Adisak’s pass, Mamut who was not controlled smartly read the move before shooting in the penalty box to level the score at 1-1 before both teams headed to the dressing room after the end of the first half.
When the home team kept pressing in the second half, the ‘architect’ of the visitors, Muhamad Nor Azam Azih stole the spotlight when his powerful kick from outside the penalty box in the 68th minute hit the net on the left side of the goal for his team to lead 2-1 and the position remained until the whistle. the end was blown by the referee, Mohd Nafeez Wahab.
