The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) would like to announced that only 16 players can play in the match against Laos at the Morodok Techo Stadium, Phnom Penh, tonight after performing a rapid antigen test (ART) this morning.
Meanwhile, several other players are still waiting for the ART decision from the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Competition Organizing Committee.
Through the ART decision this morning, the Malaysia U23 squad will lose the services of several key players for the second match against Laos, tonight.
With the alarming increase in the number of positive cases within the team in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, the health and safety of officers as well as players continues to be a priority for FAM.
However, for the sake of sportsmanship, the Malaysia U23 will still go down through the second match against Laos, tonight and will fight as best they can for the country despite facing the obstacles of COVID-19.
