Safiq Rahim, a player of Johor Darul Ta’Zim, also suffered misfortune when a car window was broken using a hammer near the JDT training centre.
The incident involving two national players, Akhyar Rashid, who was robbed in Kuala Terengganu and Faisal Halim, who was splashed with acid, has not subsided. Safiq also faced attacks by unknown individuals.
The windshield of his vehicle was broken by a hammer when he was near the JDT training center in Padang Seri Gelam a while ago.
However, Alistair Edwards, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Darul Ta’zim, has issued an official statement expressing concern about this incident.
“Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) are concerned of the incident involving Safiq Rahim where his car was attacked near the JDT Training Centre tonight.” CEO JDT said.
“We urge the Royal Malaysian Police to investigate the matter urgently.”
“The incident, together with the recent attacks on Akhyar Rashid and Faisal Halim, have no place in football. Due to these recent cases, JDT have boosted the security of our players as a precautionary measure.”
“We have also advised our players to be cautious of their surroundings and postings on social times.”
