Kedah Football Association(KFA) has an official statement explained after the news that the CEO of northern football club in Malaysia was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Friday.
Four individuals, including a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and two consultant representatives of a football association in the north of the country, were remanded for three days starting today until January 7. according to the report of Astro AWANI

Today, the Kedah Football Association(KFA) issued official statement explaining about case.
- The Kedah Darul Aman Football Association (KFA) received notice Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Haji Zulkifli Che Haron was called to testify to assist the MACC investigation on Thursday, 4 January 2024. At 9.25pm, the MACC has inform the Lawyer about the arrest and the process remand to be made on Friday morning, January 5, 2024.
- KFA would like to inform that he has been discharged with MACC guarantee this morning, 7 January 2024 at about 10.00 am after finishing testifying, along with 3 individuals who
another. - KFA would like to clarify that the appointment of the CEO is to launch the administration and functions of the Secretariat under the Secretary Honorary according to the Statute of the Association. KFA also wants to clarify that the Association has nothing to do with any Government project State. According to the Association Statute, all decisions of the Association are necessarily decided under the Executive Committee (Exco KFA). CEO only carries out duties to smooth the administration of the Association.
- Throughout the establishment of the Association, the main income was from the contributions of companies and corporate bodies. All receipts of money have been recorded in the Association’s Financial Report and presented. Contributions are accepted without reward and without prejudice.
- For the record, the KFA CEO, who was appointed in August 2020, has struggled to resolve the issue of salary arrears and debt claims from the Statutory Body since the Association’s administration changed leadership. The result of the appointment has also successfully recorded the success of the process of separating the FA football team into FC in addition to the success of having its own administrative office in 2023.
- KFA hopes that the public will not make any speculations and stop baseless accusations. This case is still in the early stages of investigation. The association denies all forms of involvement in corruption. A person is innocent until proven guilty.
