Penang FC have bolstered their attacking arsenal in spectacular fashion with the signing of seasoned Ivorian striker Tchétché Kipré ahead of the 2025/26 Liga Super Malaysia season.
Renowned for his sharp finishing, vast experience, and relentless energy, Kipré is expected to inject fresh firepower into the Panthers’ frontline.
The 38-year-old forward is no stranger to Malaysian football, having been a dominant presence since his arrival in 2017 with Terengganu FC. Over the past eight years, Kipré has found the back of the net more than 60 times across all competitions, representing notable clubs including Terengganu FC, Kedah Darul Aman FC, Kuala Lumpur City FC, and most recently, Kuching City FC.
Among Kipré’s standout achievements are his hat-trick for Kedah against Tai Po FC of Hong Kong, which secured a place in the 2020 AFC Champions League qualifiers, and his key role in guiding KL City to the 2022 AFC Cup Final. His 2018 season with Terengganu FC saw him score 14 goals in just 20 Super League matches, a feat that firmly cemented his status as one of the league’s elite strikers.
Penang FC’s management expressed high confidence in Kipré’s ability to elevate the team’s offensive threat. Known for his clinical finishing, astute positioning, and composure in the box, Kipré brings not only goals but leadership and a wealth of top-flight experience.
“Tchétché Kipré is a complete striker – intelligent, composed, and consistently dangerous in front of goal,” the club said in a statement. “His presence will be invaluable in leading our forward line and inspiring the squad throughout the season.”
