Football Association of Thailand (FA Thailand) has officially announced the departure of Jadet Meelarp, head coach of the Thailand U17 national team, along with his entire coaching staff.
The decision follows the team’s disappointing exit from the 2025 AFC U17 Asian Cup, where Thailand suffered three consecutive defeats in the group stage, failing to secure a place at the FIFA U17 World Cup 2025.
In an official statement, the association expressed gratitude for the contributions made by Chaded and his team:
“The Football Association of Thailand extends its sincere thanks to Chaded Meelarp and the entire U17 coaching staff for their dedication and hard work throughout their tenure. Their commitment has been evident from day one. However, following the conclusion of the 2025 AFC U17 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia, both parties have mutually agreed to part ways.”
The statement continued:
“We wish Coach Chaded and his team every success in their future endeavors. Moving forward, the FA Thailand technical committee will evaluate and appoint a new head coach to lead the U17 national team with the highest standards of excellence.”
The U17 squad’s campaign in Saudi Arabia ended in disappointment, prompting growing calls for structural change. With a clear vision to raise the standards of Thai youth football, FA Thailand is now seeking fresh leadership and direction to rebuild the foundation for future success on the international stage.
