Johor Darul Ta’Zim show best performance in the last home match after beating Kelantan Darul Naim scoring 9-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
Having already sealed the league title, JDT showed no signs of slowing down. Head coach Hector Bidoglio fielded a confident starting XI that included young goalkeeper Christian Abad Amat, while Kelantan DN opted for a defensive 5-4-1 formation led by winger Fazrul Amir.
Brazilian hitman Bergson da Silva opened the floodgates in the 7th minute, latching onto a precise pass from Park Jun-heong to score with ease. He doubled JDT’s lead with a clinical header from Nazmi Faiz Mansor’s corner in the 20th minute, before completing a stunning hat-trick just five minutes later with a long-range left-footed strike that left goalkeeper Fikri Che Soh helpless.
Bergson wasn’t done yet — in the 27th minute, he added his fourth goal, breaking the Liga Super record for most goals in a single season, etching his name in Malaysian football history.
JDT kept the momentum rolling, scoring their fifth goal in the 37th minute amidst chaos in Kelantan DN’s box, much to the delight of the home fans. The first half ended with the Southern Tigers in complete control: JDT 5-0 Kelantan DN.
After the break, Bidoglio introduced Shahrul Saad and Afiq Fazail, while Kelantan DN switched goalkeepers in hopes of damage control. But it was far from over.
Colombian forward Romel Morales joined the scoresheet with a towering header in the 56th minute, assisted by Bergson. Just two minutes later, he bagged his second goal, capitalizing on a brilliant through ball from Jesse Rodriguez.
Substitutes Shahrul Saad and Safiq Rahim capped off a magnificent night, scoring the eighth and ninth goals respectively, sending the stadium into a frenzy and ensuring JDT’s unbeaten home run ended in emphatic style.
With two matches remaining, JDT look set to finish the season in spectacular fashion, while this defeat leaves Kelantan DN reeling from yet another heavy loss.
This 9-0 demolition is a clear message: JDT’s reign is far from over — and their firepower is unmatched.
