German Football Association(DFB) has sacked Hansi Flick as manager of Germany national team after defeating to Japan national team with a score of 1-4 in the International Friendly ‘A’ Match on 9 September.
At the suggestion of DFB President Bernd Neuendorf, the shareholders’ meeting and supervisory board of DFB today decided to release national coach Hansi Flick and the two assistant coaches, Marcus Sorg and Danny Röhl, from their duties with immediate effect.
“The committees agreed that the Germany men’s senior national team needs new impetus after the disappointing results. We need a spirit of optimism and confidence with a view to the European Championships in our country. For me personally, it is one of the most difficult decisions in my term of office so far. Because I value Hansi Flick and his assistant coaches as football experts and people. But sporting success is the top priority for the DFB. Therefore the decision was unavoidable.” Bernd Neuendorf, President DFB, said in an official statement.
Latest, DFB has appointed Rudi Völler, Director, as the manager’s caretaker for waiting to appoint a new manager.
