Selangor FC’s struggles in the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 continued after a 2-0 defeat to Indonesia’s Persib Bandung at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Bandung.
Head coach Christophe Gamel fielded Sikh Izhan in goal, with Chrigor Moraes leading the attack and Faisal Halim wearing the captain’s armband. Persib, meanwhile, lined up with Teja Paku Alam between the posts and Andrew Jung spearheading their forward line.
The home side started aggressively, pressing high and creating multiple early chances. Their dominance paid off in the 29th minute when Adam Alis broke the deadlock with a well-placed finish, sending the packed Bandung crowd into celebration.
Selangor responded with several attacking moves through Faisal Halim and Chrigor Moraes, but goalkeeper Teja Paku Alam stood firm to deny any breakthrough. Despite a spirited effort, the Red Giants struggled to break down Persib’s organized defensive structure.
The first half ended with Persib Bandung leading 1-0.
After the restart, Persib maintained their intensity and continued to threaten on the counter. Their persistence was rewarded in the 66th minute, when Andrew Jung calmly converted a penalty following a foul on a Persib player inside the box — doubling the home side’s advantage.
The goal effectively sealed the contest as Persib, backed by their raucous supporters, controlled the tempo and nullified Selangor’s attempts to find a late goal.
The match ended 2-0 in favor of the Pangeran Biru (Blue Prince), who now sit top of Group G with 7 points, remaining unbeaten after three matches.
Selangor, on the other hand, remain bottom of the group without a point, facing a tough challenge to revive their campaign in the upcoming fixtures.
